Eklund has been right like once ever when it comes to the Blues (Andy McDonald trade from Anaheim) so take it with a pound of salt as opposed to a grain. |

Are you kidding? If the Flyers are offering Schenn for Shattenkirk, if I was St. Louis I would take that deal in a second. |

If he is truly being offered, he can't be traded until a contract is signed or arbitration is complete. Which ever comes first. |

This is incorrect. Players have been traded while waiting for arbitration it just doesn't usually happen. Unless this rule has changed there is no blocking a trade.
Schenn for Shattenkirk is an interesting idea but with the pending UFA versus RFA thing I would imagine Philadelphia would want to gain elsewhere (like a lesser D for F swap) or get back a conditional 2018 pick for not extending Shattenkirk. |

while i would like both back, i think it is more likely for cullen. but for cullen, i think its down to MN and Pit. Schultz can make more elsewhere. |

Could be like the Andersen deal where the extension was negotiated with Toronto before the trade. I just dont see the need for Shattenkirk. If you look at the Flyers D, Shattenkirk doesnt upgrade the D enough to warrant the loss of a 60 point young forward.
The deal IMO would need to be bigger. Would need to be Streit, Schenn + another D for Shattenkirk + 2 forwards. |

So B Schenn and Streit for shattenkirk and Paajarvi.
The blues, with essentially zero cap space with Sobotka(2.7 mil) back and Schwartz(5.5-6 mil) contract yet to come, will make a trade that gives 4.95 million in salary and gets 5.25 million PLUS whatever Schenn is demanding after a great season......
How about
To Flyers - Shattenkirk, Lehtera (8.95 million)
To Blues - B Schenn, Streit (with whatever amount of salary retained from Streit's last year to resign Schenn and still be under the cap) + prospect Travis Konecny.
Really, I don't want Schenn and his one great year (production wise, his possession and shot suppression numbers aren't great) which happened to also be his contract year. I think he will likely dip back into the high 40's in points next year. Which isn't bad, but that isn't worth Shattenkirk AND taking Streit in my mind.

The rule must have changed, because players are not to be traded, once they or the team, apply for arbitration, unless an extension is signed or arbitration ruling is completed. |

Someone's been hitting the crack pipe! No way are they giving up on mine my uncle there is a bonafide top 6 forward in the mix!! |

The flyers will not trade for him. The annual salary demand is insane and the flyers are building through youth and the elc on d. Give it up. |

Yeah it sounds right though I could not find that rule anywhere. It may be once the arbitration is awarded it is too late to trade the player until to match? |

The St. Louis cap situation isn't that bad with 8.7M open and only Schwartz to re-sign but you are right, the proposed offer was definitely an issue.
If Philadelphia needs a forward or two back I can see your deal happening but I doubt they take on Lehtera AND retain Streit WHILE giving up Konecny.
Maybe:
Shattenkirk, Lehtera, Conditional 2018 2nd
For
Schenn, Streit (50% retained), Hagg
St. Louis frees up cap while getting a young top 6 center for Shattenkirk, dumping Lehtera and getting a decent defensive prospect while Philadelphia gets a top line defender with some insurance should they lose him at FA.
